Relief efforts for those affected by Superstorm Sandy

by WCAblog on 10/31/2012 9:02:10 PM
The East Coast is reeling from the devastating effects of Superstorm Sandy that flooded areas in seven U.S. states, left more than 8 million people in 18 states without electrical power, and caused the deaths of at least 39 people. The destruction is expected to continue to climb.

Our prayers go out to those affected by the record storm. Please join us in praying that God will provide comfort for those who have experienced great loss, meet the needs for those who have been devastated by the storm, and guide each of us to respond as God leads. The WCA has many Summit host sites and partner churches in the affected region. Please pray for them and the other churches in the area that are moving as quickly as possible to offer assistance.

Willow Creek is not in a position to be a First Responder. Those responsibilities are best left to organizations equipped to mobilize quickly into disaster areas and provide immediate response to emergency and medical needs.
